Mom Adams Scotch / Irish Chili

?  1 Lb. Hamburger Brown

?  2 Lg. Onion Brown

?  15 Oz Tomato Sauce

?  1 Can Water

?  2 Tbs. Chili Powder (Gerpharts)

?  Salt, Pepper, Garlic

?  1 Tbs. Oregano

?  ½ Tesp Sweet Basil

Simmer 1 Hr

1 Can Red Chili Beans

 

Mom Chocolate Sauce

?  1 Cup Sugar

?  2 Tablespoons Cocoa

?  1 Tablespoon White Karo

?  1 Tablespoon Butter

?  1 Tablespoon Vanilla

Cover in Water Bring to boil to thicken

 

Moms BBQ Sauce

?  Cris-N-Pits

?  Brown Sugar *

?  Catsup

?  Salt & Pepper

 

Mom’s FUDGE

?  2 Cups Sugar

?  4 oz can of Milk

?  1 Cube of butter

?  1 Tables spoon Vanilla

?  Bring to boil 10 min or until fudge balls in cold water

?  1 Bag of Chocolate Chips

?  20 Marsh Mellows               

 

Grandma Young’s Syrup

?  1 Cup Sugar

?  1 Cup Water (1 to 1 ratio)

?  1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract

Bring to Boil 5 min let cool

  

Mom Adams Mex Noodles

?  1 Large Package of noodles

?  1 to 1 ½ Lb. Hamburger Brown

?  2 Lg. Onion Brown

?  16 Oz Tomato Sauce

?  1 Tbs. Chili Powder (Gerpharts)

?  Salt, Pepper

?  1 Tbs. Oregano

Simmer 1 Hr add ½ block of Velveeta pour over noodles once

Velveeta is melted. Mix in  the Olives & Corn

?  1 Can Black Olives

?  1 Can Corn (whole Kernel)

 

Mom Adams Italian Noodles

?  1 to 1 ½ Lb. Hamburger Brown

?  1 Lg. Onion Brown

?  16 Oz Tomato Sauce

?  3 Tbs. Italian Seasoning

?  Salt, Pepper

Options Simmer add ½ block of Velveeta pour over noodles once Velveeta is melted.

 

Mom’s Mac & Cheese

?  Start by Make a Cream Sauce

- 2 cups of milk

- One 1/2 sticks of butter or Margarine.

- Add flour to thicken approx ½ cup

- Cube and add 1 Large Block of Velveeta Cheese stirring until melted

?  Salt, Pepper to taste

?  Boil 1 package of Macaroni

?  Poor over Macaroni. Mix in.

?  Bake at 350 for 30 min.

Option Mom Adds I can of Salmon to left over’s for a whole new dish.

  

Dad’s Beer Muffins

?  1 Can / Bottle of Beer

?  2 Cups Flower (Self Rising)

?  3 Tables spoon of Sugar

Bake in cupcake pan 350F until light brown

Use Beer with Flavor no light Stuff.

  

Grandma LU Spiced Peaches

?  l can (16 oz) peach halves

?  1/4 cup sugar

?  1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

?  1/4 tsp ground clove

?  1/4 tsp ground al-spice.

Drain syrup from peaches into a small sauce pan (set peaches aside in a heat resistant bowl) 

Add sugar and the spices and other items into the pot of syrup and bring to a boil, reduce heat and

simmer for 5 minutes and stir a little to mix . Pour syrup over peaches and cover. Chill overnight.

Best if done two days before you want to use.

 

Grandma Lu’s Irish Soda Bread.

?  4 Cups All Purpose Flower (Un-sifted)

?  1 Tsp Salt

?  1 Tsp Baking Power

?  1 Tsp Baking Soda

?  ¼ Cup Sugar

?  ¼ Cup Margarine

?  1 Lg. egg

?  3/4 Cups Buttermilk

?  2 Cups Raisins

Bake at 375 Deg for 1 Hour

Use Dough Hook. Combine all Dry ingredients well. Cut in the margarine with knife.

Add raisins to flower mixture.

Mix for 2 or 3 min. while slowly adding the butter milk and the one egg.

Dough will adhere to bowel clear sides of bowl. Remove dough onto flowered surface and place in

well greased black iron fry pan (8” to 10”) Cut a 4” cross about ¼ “ deep on top to allow for expansion.

Brush top with buttermilk. Use a metal skewer to test for doneness at 1 hour time period, longer if not done.

When done remove from pan and allow to cool on a rack

 

Ken’s Sour Dough Pancakes

Night Before:

Add to Starter 2 Cups flour + 2 Cups of Luke Warm evaporated canned milk.

Cover and put in warm Place at least 8 hours.

Next Morning:

Take starter out and put back in refrigerator for next time.

Add to the remaining starter in the bowl

?  4 Tablespoons Sugar

?  4 or 5 Eggs

?  ½ teaspoon baking soda

Mix Well - Don’t Mix Again.

* You can double recipe (2 cans of evap milk=almost 4 cups)

* Some Sour Dough Starters are 50 to100 yrs old

finding good one is the Trick, keeping it alive is harder.

 

Mom's Creamed Corn

?  5-lb bag of frozen corn

?  2 8-oz pkgs. Cream cheese cubed and softened

?  ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk

Prepare corn per package directions: stir in cream cheese until melted. Drizzle milk on top Serves 25.

 

Mom's Mandarin Marshmallow Salad

?  16 oz Sour Cream

?  16 oz Bag of Marshmallows

?  1 Can of mandarin Oranges

Mix all together Chile for 1 hr prior to serve
